Get to Know Our School

Dr. Maya Angelou Community High School (MACHS) is located at 300 E. 53rd Street in the South Park area of Los Angeles. MACHS provides students with an engaging and rigorous learning environment through our school-wide AVID Program, Advanced Placement Courses, Dual Enrollment Program, and full Special Education integration. We have a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program in Video Production and an Engineering Pathway. MACHS also provides student the opportunity to earn 60 units in college courses with our Community College Partners. Staff at MACHS support each student with encouragement, high expectations, and the belief that all students are future leaders. Our core curricular program is designed to ensure that each student meets the mandated A-G requirements for graduation and college readiness.
